TRA TERRA E CIELO

The circular nature of the upcycling couture collection TRA TERRA E CIELO stems from the idea of circularity and the position of our bodies in the panorama. There are many sayings in Italian that contemplate both the earth and the sky, such as "non stare né in cielo né in terra."

The inspiration of the collection came during a walk through the Lomé market streets (Togo) that Kouto did in 2019. There are no boundaries between earth and sky and we, as human beings, with the horizon and the clouds, are in the middle of this invisible circular connection. We constitute the only physical separation in this ongoing circle.
